Today some of the forts in Konkan have been destroyed in the course of time and the remains and records of some forts have existed only by their names in the pages of history. The fort at Nandos is an example of it. The Nandos fort in Malvan taluka is only a remnant today. Nandos fort is at a distance of 19 km from Malvan city and 15 km from Kasal. The locals are reluctant to say anything about the fort as the incident took place in the vicinity of Nandos fort in 2003. The young congregations in the village, however, show the exact location of the fort and provide other information as well. There were generations of people living on the fort who still live in Nandos village. These people use their last name as Gadkari. An overhead water tank can be seen on the slope of the hill on the right side of the Giroba Panchayat temple in Nandos village. ... Next to these water tanks are the ruined ramparts and bastions of Nandos fort. We could not see the fort and take pictures as it was getting dark and the locals forbade us to go to the fort in the dark. Taking advantage of the internal dispute over inheritance in Wadi Sansthan in 1805, the Karveer army decided to take over Wadi Sansthan. For this, the Karveer army camped at Nandos and built a fort here which looks like a fortress. Sardar Dhondo Govind of Wadi was killed by Karveerkar in a battle. After that, in the attack carried out by Sardar Ramchandra Khanvilkar and Chandroba Subhedar, the chiefs of the Wadi, the Karveerkars suffered heavy losses and had to relocate their belongings. At this time Sawantwadikar demolished this fort. An inspection of the fort by the British in 1862 records that the fort at Nandos was in good condition.
