NANDANE
TYPE : NAGARKOT
DISTRICT : DHULE
GRADE : EASY
On the way from Dhule to Lamkani from Servand fork on the Mumbai-Agra highway, there is a small village called Nandane. This village has a fort-like gate built during the British era that is worth a stop. There are two circular bastions on either side of the gate door and inside the door there are guard rooms on both sides. There are two floors above the gate and bastions with a very beautiful arch. It can be reached by a staircase on the inside of the door. This historical structure is a must see which is easily seen while passing by the road. Built in the recent times, this structure has nothing to do with history. Deliberately mentioning it here as we were stopped by this structure to visit for some time. Looking at this structure one can say that instead of preserving old historical structure, people are building new similar looking ones.
...
Although this building, which looks like a grand gate of a fort, can be easily seen from a car, the temptation to go closer and take pictures does not stop. This structure is being noted here as a ground fort look-like structure in Nandane village in Dhule taluka of Dhule district.
