Some of the forts mentioned in the history have been completely destroyed in the course of time and today there are not even remnants left to determine their location. One such fort lost from Thane district is Naldurg!!! Thane District Gazetteer gives the following information about this fort. Ground fort named Naldurg is located near Narivali village, south east of Murbad. According to the records of 1862 AD, the fort has been completely destroyed as there is no water supply in the fort. When searching for this fort in Narivali village, no one even the old people know about this fort. After inquiring as a fort, all these fingers turn towards Siddhagad. But in Bangarpada wadi near this village we can see a 350 year old mansion (wada). The history of this wada is unknown today and in the surrounding area this place is known as Kanho Patil's palace of 56 doors. This two-storied four cornered mansion has about forty rooms and an underground basement.

There are two squares in the inner part of the mansion, one of them is known as Chandni Chowk and the other is said to be Nyay (justice) Dalan. On the first floor there is a large hall and above it there is another small floor under the roof. The place is divided into several areas and walking inside feels like walking in a labyrinth. Adjacent to this mansion is the Maruti temple where along with the Hanuman idol, the idol of Kanhu Ganu Bangar can also be seen. At one time, Kanhu Ganu Patil is said to have possession and responsibility of 24 surrounding villages. There is a well in the premises and the remains of a ruined wall and a door can be seen in the eastern direction. It cannot be said with certainty whether these ruins belong to the ramparts around the mansion or to something else. Naldurg must also be somewhere around this mansion, but its location could not be ascertained. This article written just to inform people about this place.
