KHEDGAON NANDICHE

In the era of internet, the information we need today is available on the computer in a moment. We make the information we hold readily available to others. But no one is sure whether this information is true or false. Often this information is useful, but sometimes it is also wrong. We got the same experience while wandering around the forts and fortresses in Jalgaon district. As I read information on the internet that there is a fort of village Nandi, I added the name of this village in our wandering list and visited this village. The village of Khedgaon Nandi in Pachora taluka is situated on the Pachora Jalgaon highway at a distance of 8 km from Pachora and 40 km from Jalgaon. Local people tell a story about why the village Khedgaon got its name from Khedgaon Nandi. A person in the village had a bull which used to shed tears when it was put to work, so it was released as Nandi.
...
After that Nandi died, his memorial was built in the village and after that the village came to be known as Khedgaon Nandi. The village was known as Khedgaon Nandi as the financial capital of the taluka in earlier times. While entering the village, seeing the 3-4 storied grand mansions in the village, one gets an idea of this and the former glory of the village. Today, all that glory has gone and due to the collapse of this mansion, its condition has become desolate. The massive place and its wood carvings are a must-see. But these strong mansions built 100-125 years ago for living are not fort. Someone on the internet referring to these magnificent mansions as a fort is completely wrong. Formerly a private property, the mansion has never been used for administrative purposes and has no protective structure like a fort. As a result, there is no fort here, but the three grand mansions here are a must to see. This village can be visited to see the mansion but there is no fort or fortress here.
