While studying the history, it seems that some injustice has been done to Yavatmal district because while wandering around the forts of this district, small forts like Raver, Kayar, Durg, Kalamb can be seen but these forts are not mentioned anywhere. Locals know this fort but others are unfamiliar with it. The main reason these forts are unfamiliar is that they are on the verge of destruction or have been destroyed. One such fort which is getting destroyed with the passage of time can be seen in Kalamb town of taluka. Kalamb town on the Yavatmal-Nagpur highway is 23 km from Yavatmal city. The fort is situated on a small hill in the middle of Kalamb town and if you ask anyone in the village you can easily reach this fort. The way to the fort, however, passes through the alleys of houses. ... After reaching the top, a tomb can be seen on the left side. As a ground to play was built on the top of the fort, the structures on it have been completely destroyed. In the remaining part of the hill, a large amount of vegetation has grown. Due to this vegetation, the bastions are not visible, but their existence is felt by their size. The broken remains state that there have been two circular bastion in this place. Half an hour is enough to see the fort. Apart from this, the Ganesh temple at Kalamb is famous in surrounding Area. There was a fort of Gond raja at Kalamb. Kalamb was invaded by Mughal Sultans. In it, the entire fort was destroyed by slaughter, torture, looting. Apart from this reading, no other information about the fort is available except written documents by Moreshwar Kunthe that there is a fort near Kalamb. In his records he mentioned that a Lord Bhavani Hemandpanti temple being here are found.
